Engine Dismantling, Cleaning and Serviceability Inspections

Every old engine received at HM GEM is dismantled, chemically cleaned and inspected to ensure it meets our stringent reusability guidelines.

Cylinder blocks have all welsh and gallery plugs removed prior to the chemical cleaning process to ensure no old residues remain. Core components including Cylinder Heads, Crankshafts, Camshafts, Connecting Rods, Oil Pumps, Rockers, Valve covers and Oil Pans are cleaned for inspection. Items including Pistons, Rings, Bearing Shells, Timing Components, Valves, Lifters, Gaskets and Seals are discarded as they will be replaced with new during the reconditioning process.
